a good gig at Gig

image

The Gig at Gig was well played, we think, if not as well attended as we would have liked; that i put the wrong month on some of the flyers may not have helped matters either!

I always like to give a good week or so of distance before listening to the recordings (proprietor Bruce Dunlap calls it the " the week of self-forgiveness") but I think there'll be some moments on it. That said, unless youre able to take a full day off or even half day off from work to really emotionally and spiritually prepare to the fullest, there's always going to be an edge to the performance that takes a while to shake. Still, we made people happy, and rhats what counts.

Bruce was an absolute delight to work for - he did sound himself, and took great care and detail on it; don't think we've had a live gig where we ever sounded better, in that regard. Thanks again Bruce for having us, and we hope to be back soon!

We met a very interesting gentleman who came to the gig, one Ray Vafa, who is working on some artistic and economic exchanges between here and Toronto. He took some video samples for us, and I'll have those up when he emails them to me, maybe even synched with the full recording.

Speaking of video, I have a very interesting announcement to make in a few days - stay tuned.

Sunday's interfaith event was even more harried to get to, but the vibe and the music is always beautiful from everyone. I particularly enjoy the Sikh contributions whenever I hear them, and this time was no exception, though I missed the bulk of it, sadly. Setar and Jason joined Zevk ensemble, and it was nice to trade a bit with violin.

The Annapurna gig moves to Tuesdays staring tonight, so ill be there - most likely solo this week but Jeff may come up. Get your chai on, and I'll see you there.
