new BOAP mp3s and updates

After the December screening, Ive been tweaking, polishing going over everything with a fine tooth comb in preparation for the final definitive mix. An interim mix is in place now, good enough to send the film out to some festivals for consideration.

Here's some new and/or revised mp3s, starting with the corresponding mp3s for the video tracks, in case you'd like to hear the music a little better. This is one thats been revised since the YouTube posting, with some minor mods to the mix and the lead sarod edit:

The "Birth of a Pillow" title story excerpt below is extended beyond the YouTube clip, as it carries over into the next scenes. Its a regular bit of repertoire that we do which happened to fit astonishingly well...Its also known as "Inside". Probably my personal favorite out of everything we do.

One of the most problematic pieces emotionally was the doll sequence (as mentioned below). We came up with something very close in mood and rhythm, but i didnt feel it was precisely right in the December screening, it needed some missing element. The fretless electric did the trick. I think its quite effective now. Trancy, almost repetitious at the start, but it builds:

And finally something short and fun, for a scene in which a young schoolgirl disocvers her budding sexual appetite. This is one that needs a remix: The extant edit was made on the fly in Kolkata, but I need to go back and cut the multitracks to match this edit. This is another adapted one from the regular duo repertoire.

In other news, I fell on the pavement two weeks ago and cracked two ribs, which slowed some performances down, but we are gradually regrouping and making our way back to Annapurna's on Tuesdays, 6 to 8 ish. See ya there.

Sarod got a little too unwieldly with the ribs initially, so Ive been working a lot with the fretless. Interesting things are coming out of that. ..
