playing for others, part 2
Next week we have a very intriguing gig also, in Albuquerque at the Outpost ( Friday, April 27th 8 pm):
An evening of two poets ( or are they in this case poetesses?) -Lisa Gill and Purvi Shah - read and share their works with musical support from Jefferson, myself and J. A. Deane. Dino will work with Lisa, while the Duo will work with Purvi Shah.
The second half, however, will have everyone together... Dino asked that Jefferson bring his trap set and that i bring my fretless. This will be some fresh territory for us, so it should be pretty exciting.
Details on the gig are here at the Outpost site..

Playing for others, part 1
Jefferson and I have had the good fortune to be enlisted to accompany Santa Fe based jazz chanteuse Madi Sato in a recent spate of gigs. After a hiatus from the scene, she has come back energized, with a fresh approach, layering in some powerful elements from her Japanese heritage. We're assisiting Madi and her partner Tom Berkes - an extraordinary 12 string guitarist, and its working beautifully right off the bat - and the potential is even better.
Madi 's site is under revamp, but you can get some background and info at her CDBaby page.
